Crawford Co., GA (December 19, 2024) – One person was killed, and another was injured in a pedestrian accident in Crawford County. Reports from authorities show the accident happened between Hays Farm Road and the Monroe and Crawford County Line on Highway 42. Multiple responders were seen working at the wreck site at around 7:18 p.m. on December 16. Police received a report concerning the incident that involved two pedestrians who had been struck by a vehicle. When responders arrived at the scene, they found a 28-year-old woman, identified as Brittaney Nicole McDowell, who had lost her life due to the extent of her injuries. Another 24-year-old pedestrian was taken to a hospital in Macon for treatment. The Georgia State Patrol and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office continue to investigate the details of the crash.
