The incident began around 8:52 p.m. on December 20, when a Georgia State Patrol Nighthawks North DUI Task Force Trooper observed a gray Kia sedan traveling at 61 mph in a 35-mph zone on Roswell Road Northeast near Honour Avenue Northwest. The trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver refused to comply, sparking a pursuit.
During the chase, the fleeing vehicle caused a head-on crash involving an Atlanta Police officer. The officer was transported to a local hospital with injuries.
