Washington Co., GA - One Killed in Traffic Accident on SR 242 near Woodbine Dr

Washington Co., GA (November 18, 2024) – Police in Washington County were sent to the scene of a fatal car accident on Sunday, November 17. Troopers were dispatched to the crash site on State Route 242 near Woodbine Drive after receiving reports of the two-car accident. Reports show a Honda Accord was attempting to pass a Toyota Tacoma in a no-passing zone while the Tacoma was turning left. The Accord struck the Tacoma, sending both drivers to Washington County Regional Medical Center. The driver of the Tacoma later lost their life due to the extent of their injuries. At this time, no one involved has been identified. Police in Washington County continue to investigate.
