Georgia Car Accidents
Every year, the state of Georgia sees a substantial number of auto accidents, with over 300,000 occurring annually. These wrecks cause more than 150,000 people to sustain injuries, and, more than 1,000 people lose their lives per year in car wrecks in the Peach State. Unfortunately, over 90% of reported auto collisions in Georgia and across the United States are preventable and caused by negligent driving.
Driver negligence has become a significant issue across the country, especially in the past decade. Some of the most common types of negligent driving seen on American roadways include:
- Fatigue
- Speeding
- Intoxicated driving
- Distraction
Speeding was behind 12,151 deaths in the United States in 2022. This represents almost 30% of the national accident fatality rate. Despite an approximately 3% decrease from 2021, speeding continues to be a significant issue on American roadways.
