Georgia Car Accidents
Tragically, fatal car accidents remain a serious concern across Georgia. Each year, thousands of families are left grieving the sudden and unexpected loss of a loved one due to a preventable crash. According to recent data from the Georgia Department of Transportation, more than 1,700 people lost their lives on Georgia’s roads in a single year—an alarming reminder of how fragile life can be behind the wheel.
Many of these deadly crashes are tied to human error. Common contributing factors include:
- Distracted driving, such as texting or using a phone while behind the wheel
- Speeding and aggressive driving
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Reckless or fatigued driving, especially on highways and rural roads
When a fatal collision occurs, the emotional and financial toll on the victim’s family can be overwhelming. In addition to mourning their loss, families often face unexpected expenses, including funeral costs, medical bills, and the loss of a primary income earner.
While no legal action can bring back a loved one, pursuing a wrongful death claim can help families find closure and financial relief. Compensation may be available for:
- Funeral and burial expenses
- Loss of future income and support
- Pain and suffering endured by surviving family members
- Medical bills incurred prior to death
- Loss of companionship and emotional support
