Thomson, GA - One Killed in Two-Car Accident on Cobham Rd

Thomson, GA (June 8, 2025) – A tragic two-car collision in Thomson has claimed the life of a local woman, according to McDuffie County Coroner Paul Johnson.

The crash occurred early Saturday morning, June 7, on Cobham Road. Authorities say 60-year-old Lisa Lazier was driving eastbound when her vehicle was struck by an SUV traveling in the opposite direction.

Emergency responders arrived quickly, but Lazier was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:53 a.m. The driver of the SUV sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for medical care. Their current condition has not been publicly released.

The Georgia State Patrol is leading the investigation into the cause of the crash. Further details are expected as the inquiry continues.
