Tennille, GA (May 21, 2025) – Authorities are investigating a fatal car accident that occurred Tuesday afternoon in Washington County.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the crash took place near the 3000 block of Hartsford Road.

The Georgia State Patrol responded to the scene of the crash at approximately 1:45 p.m. Preliminary findings indicate that a northbound Ford F-450 drifted out of its lane, veering onto the west shoulder where it collided with a tree. The truck then overturned and caught fire.

Tragically, at least one person lost their life as a result of the accident.

Emergency responders, including medical and rescue teams, arrived promptly to assist at the scene.

Officials are awaiting further details from the Washington County Coroner’s Office regarding the identity of the victim.
