Savannah, GA - Injuries Caused by Collision on I-95 near I-16

Savannah, GA (March 22, 2025) – The Georgia Department of Transportation reports all lanes were blocked on Interstate 95 near the intersection with Interstate 16 due to a collision with injuries. The wreck occurred shortly after 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 22.

According to the Georgia State Police (GSP), a roadway maintenance crew was clearing traffic barrels when a Nissan Altima left the roadway into the center median and struck one of the crew members, pinning him between the vehicle and a maintenance vehicle. A GSP patrol vehicle was parked behind the crew with its emergency lights activated at the time of the crash. As a result, the collision was recorded on the dash camera system of the patrol vehicle. The crew member sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Police continue to investigate the incident.
