Georgia Traffic Accidents
Auto accidents occur constantly in the United States and throughout the state of Georgia. Each year, more than 6 million traffic accidents happen in the US. Approximately 8% of these collisions involve semi-trucks. In 2022, over 5,000 large trucks were involved in auto accidents in the United States. In Georgia, between 2013 and 2023, over 300,000 semi-truck accidents were reported.
Tractor-trailer collisions pose significant dangers due to the weight and size of these vehicles compared to passenger cars. A fully loaded semi-truck can weigh approximately 80,000 pounds, while the average passenger vehicle weighs approximately 3,500 pounds. This massive size difference poses a significant threat when a truck collides with a smaller vehicle, making the impact more devastating, resulting in serious injuries and fatalities.
