Georgia Car Accidents
Traffic collisions remain one of the most pressing public safety concerns in Georgia, and Henry County is no exception. In recent years, the region has seen a troubling rise in injury-causing car accidents, many of which stem from preventable behaviors behind the wheel.
Statewide, Georgia lost more than 1,780 lives in car crashes in 2023. Thousands more sustained serious injuries that left lasting physical, emotional, and financial impacts. Sadly, many of these wrecks are not random — they’re the result of negligent driving.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 90% of motor vehicle crashes nationwide are linked to driver error. In Henry County, the most common culprits include:
- Distracted driving — including texting, eating, or adjusting a GPS while driving
- Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- Excessive speeding, which increases both the chance and severity of a crash
- Driver fatigue, especially on long commutes or late-night drives
These unsafe actions place everyone on the road at risk. Speeding alone contributes to more than 12,000 fatalities each year across the U.S., while distracted driving causes hundreds of thousands of injuries.
When someone else’s carelessness causes a crash, the fallout can be overwhelming, from medical bills and lost wages to long-term pain and emotional trauma. If you or a loved one was injured in an accident caused by a reckless driver in Henry County, you have legal options.
