One of the victims was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the other lost their life at Atrium Health Peach. A third victim, a male, was transported to Atrium Health Navicent, where he is being treated for injuries he sustained in the crash. All interstate lanes were closed while responders worked in the area, resulting in significant traffic delays. Police asked local motorists to avoid the area if possible.
