Georgia Pedestrian Accidents
Traffic accidents happen all too often in the US, with over 17,000 wrecks reported per day. Around 7,500 people are hurt in these accidents per day, while more than 100 end up losing their lives due to the extent of their injuries. In Georgia alone, more than 300,000 annual traffic accidents are reported that injure around 150,000 people. Sadly, approximately 1,800 individuals are killed yearly in traffic accidents in the Peach State.
The majority of auto accidents in the US and throughout the state of Georgia are caused by the actions of negligent drivers. Drivers who engage in dangerous behaviors such as intoxication and distraction cause over half of the national accident fatality rate every year. Other common forms of negligent driving that cause a large percentage of reported crashes across the US are fatigue and speeding. Each year, over 10,000 people lose their lives in crashes caused by speeding.
Pedestrian crashes are some of the most devastating types of traffic accidents that occur. Over half of them are caused by the actions of negligent drivers, according to information provided by the NHTSA. Every year, over 8,000 pedestrians are killed in traffic accidents.
