Atlanta, GA (July 3, 2025) – A motorcyclist lost their life Thursday morning following a crash on I-85 northbound near Lindbergh Drive, just beneath the Georgia 400 overpass, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
The incident occurred around 7:02 a.m. and involved a 1997 BMW motorcycle and a 2019 Honda C-HR. Authorities say the rider was ejected from the motorcycle during the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash caused significant delays throughout the morning commute, with traffic backing up from Midtown into Buckhead. As of late morning, congestion remains heavy in the area, and the HOV lane remains closed as troopers continue their investigation.
No additional details have been released, and the identity of the motorcyclist has not yet been made public. Georgia State Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
