Atlanta, GA - Deadly Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-85 near Chamblee Tucker Rd

Atlanta, GA (February 3, 2025) – A fatal car accident happened in Atlanta on Monday morning, February 3. Multiple responders were sent to the crash scene at approximately 3:30 a.m. Police say the crash happened on Interstate 85 near Chamblee Tucker Road when a damaged vehicle was stalled in the right lane. The driver was standing near the stalled vehicle when a second car stopped to render aid. Shortly after, a third vehicle struck the damaged vehicle, along with both drivers who were standing nearby. A fourth car then came upon the scene and also crashed.

The first driver, who has not been identified at this time, lost their life at the crash scene. The driver who stopped to help was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries, police confirmed. Police in DeKalb County continue to investigate the details of the accident.
