What You Should Know About Motorcycle Crashes in Savannah
Motorcycle crashes in high-traffic areas like Largo Drive and Abercorn Street in Savannah often result in serious injuries. Unlike drivers in cars, motorcyclists have minimal physical protection during a collision. Even with a helmet and proper riding gear, the impact from a crash can cause significant harm.
Intersections are particularly dangerous for riders, as many accidents happen when other drivers fail to yield, make sudden turns, or don’t notice a motorcycle approaching.
Injuries from motorcycle crashes vary depending on the force of impact and the speed involved. Riders commonly experience broken bones, road rash, and head or back injuries. Some injuries may be treated with short-term care, but others could require surgery, physical therapy, or long recovery periods.
Internal injuries are also a concern and may not be immediately obvious. For that reason, motorcyclists should always get a medical evaluation after a crash, even if they feel fine at first.
Following a crash, it can be difficult to manage medical bills, lost income, and insurance paperwork. That’s where a motorcycle accident lawyer can help. An attorney can review accident reports, check for driver errors, and explain what insurance coverage may apply.
In cases where another driver was careless or reckless, legal guidance can help you understand what compensation options might be available to support your recovery.
