Savannah, GA (September 15, 2025) – A major collision involving four vehicles left several people seriously injured early Sunday morning.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the crash happened on September 14, around 12:04 a.m., near mile marker 161 on Interstate 16. Troopers were called to assist the Garden City Police Department, but jurisdiction was later transferred to the Savannah Police Department. Traffic investigators with SPD arrived on the scene and took over the case.
Authorities reported that multiple vehicles collided, resulting in serious injuries. Emergency responders worked to provide aid to those involved, though the number of victims and the extent of their injuries have not yet been released.
The crash caused significant delays, as I-16 was completely shut down for more than four hours. The road later reopened once investigators finished processing the scene and the vehicles were cleared.
Savannah Police confirmed that their traffic investigators continue to review the cause of this multi-vehicle wreck. Further details about the victims’ conditions are expected as the investigation continues.
We wish those hurt a fast recovery.
