Georgia Car Accidents
A substantial number of Georgia car wrecks happen every year. In fact, over 300,000 collisions were reported in the Peach State in one recent year. These wrecks often cause injuries and even fatalities for those involved. Sadly, the majority of reported Georgia traffic collisions are caused by negligent drivers.
Driver negligence has become a major concern in the United States, especially in the past decade. Information provided by the NHTSA shows that 9 of 10 reported auto accidents are caused by negligent drivers. Some of the most common types of negligent driving include:
- Driving under the influence
- Distractions, like using a phone
- Intoxicated driving
- Speeding
- Fatigue
In just one year, speeding was behind over 12,000 fatalities in the United States. Additionally, distracted driving caused more than 3,000 deaths. Collisions caused by the actions of negligent drivers are often more dangerous and deadly than wrecks that happen for other reasons, which highlights the importance of staying awake, alert, focused, and aware while operating a vehicle.
