Georgia Car Accidents

Every year, thousands of individuals are hurt in Georgia car crashes. In 2022, an estimated 1,700 people lost their lives in traffic accidents in the Peach State. On average, over 130,000 people suffer injuries in the state of Georgia each year due to car accidents. Sadly, more than 30 people are killed weekly in these wrecks. Auto collisions have become one of the top ten reasons American citizens end up with serious or even fatal injuries, with the majority being caused by driver negligence.

Negligent driving behaviors come in many forms; however, the most common forms of driver negligence seen on American roadways include:

  • Intoxication
  • Distraction
  • Exhaustion
  • Fatigue

For example, over 400,000 auto collisions happen per year in the US caused by the actions of distracted drivers. Additionally, more than 12,000 people lose their lives per year in crashes caused by inebriated drivers.

If you or a beloved member of your family has recently been hurt in a traffic accident caused by negligence, you should not have to worry about your finances while you’re trying to recover. You may be eligible for financial compensation when you file a personal injury claim with a personal injury lawyer in DeKalb County. Some damages often covered by financial compensation include:

  • Medical bills
  • Lost wages
  • Vehicle repairs
  • Pain
  • Suffering
  • Emotional turmoil
