Hit and Run in Georgia

The loss of a child in a preventable crash is one of the most heartbreaking events a family can experience. In Georgia, hit-and-run accidents, especially those involving impaired drivers, continue to be a serious issue. Drivers who flee the scene of a crash often leave victims without help during their most critical moments.

According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, DUI-related crashes and hit-and-run incidents have been rising in recent years, with thousands of serious injuries and fatal cases reported statewide. Children and pedestrians are especially vulnerable in these high-speed or reckless driving collisions.

When a driver causes a fatal crash and attempts to avoid responsibility, criminal charges are just the beginning. Families may also be entitled to pursue a civil wrongful death claim, which can provide compensation for medical costs, funeral expenses, emotional distress, and the loss of companionship. While no amount of money can undo the loss, holding negligent drivers accountable is essential for justice and future prevention.
