Dublin, GA (October 6, 2025) – On October 4, a devastating head-on collision in Laurens County left one teenager dead and three others seriously injured, shaking the local community.
According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), the accident happened around 12:44 a.m. on State Rte 31, just south of State Rte 117. Investigators reported that a green Ford Ranger traveling northbound crossed the center line for reasons still under investigation and collided head-on with a red Kia Soul traveling southbound. The impact of the crash caused catastrophic damage to both vehicles and tragic consequences for those involved.
Authorities confirmed that a 15-year-old sophomore lost his life in the crash. His mother, who was driving the Kia Soul, was found unresponsive at the scene but survived after emergency crews transported her for urgent medical care. The teen’s twin brother was airlifted to the Children’s Hospital in Augusta due to the severity of his injuries. The driver of the Ford Ranger, an adult male, was transported to Fairview Park Hospital for treatment.
The Georgia State Patrol continues to investigate what led to the Ford Ranger crossing the center line. At this time, no charges have been announced. Community members and school officials expressed deep sorrow at the tragedy, describing the student as a beloved part of the West Laurens High School family.
