Georgia Traffic Collisions

Georgia experiences a significant number of auto accidents annually, with more than 300,000 reported crashes causing over 150,000 injuries and resulting in more than 1,000 fatalities. Alarmingly, over 90% of these accidents are preventable and attributed to negligent driving.

Negligent driving has been a growing concern across the country in recent years. Common causes of driver negligence include:

  • Fatigue
  • Speeding
  • Intoxicated driving
  • Distractions

In 2022, speeding was responsible for 12,151 fatalities across the U.S., which accounted for nearly 30% of all traffic-related deaths. Although speeding fatalities decreased by around 3% from the previous year, it remains a major safety issue on the roads.
