Georgia Car Accidents

Car crashes happen at an alarming rate in the United States and throughout the state of Georgia. The Peach State sees a large number of traffic collisions per year, with more than 300,000 reported wrecks annually. These collisions often cause injuries or even fatalities for those involved. Sadly, more than 150,000 people are hurt in Georgia car crashes per year while thousands end up losing their lives. Throughout the country, over 40,000 people are killed in car accidents every year.

Negligent driving has become a serious problem across the country, especially in the past ten years. Research indicates that over 94% of reported traffic accidents are linked to driver negligence. Common forms of negligent driving include:

  • Distraction
  • Intoxication
  • Fatigue
  • Speeding

In one year alone, unsafe speeds contributed to the deaths of over 12,000 people on U.S. roadways, while distracted driving was responsible for more than 400,000 collisions. Accidents caused by negligent driving tend to be more severe, underscoring the importance of staying alert and sober behind the wheel.
