Americus, GA (December 6, 2025) – Two people were injured on Friday, December 5, after a school minibus crashed into a home on Tom Hall Circle in Americus.
Investigators said the crash happened around 5:50 p.m. when the bus driver, who lives on the same street, attempted to park her vehicle. She suddenly lost control, crossed the roadway, and slammed into a house across from her home.
Investigators confirmed that no children were on the bus at the time of the crash. Paramedics treated both the driver and the homeowner at the scene before transporting them to a nearby hospital for further care. Authorities have not released their current conditions.
Officers spent several hours collecting evidence and speaking with witnesses to determine what caused the crash. The Americus Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
Our hearts are with the victims, and we wish them a full and steady recovery.
Bus Accidents in Georgia
Bus accidents happen frequently across Georgia, especially in neighborhoods, school zones, and busy intersections. When a bus loses control, the results can be devastating for everyone involved.
Many bus crashes occur when drivers misjudge turns, lose focus, or struggle to control their vehicles on narrow roads. Problems like brake failure, worn tires, or slick pavement can also lead to serious collisions. In some cases, fatigue or distraction leaves drivers unable to react in time, resulting in violent impacts.
Victims often suffer serious injuries such as broken bones, head trauma, and back pain that can take months to heal. Many experience anxiety, loss of sleep, and financial strain while trying to recover. These challenges can affect not only the victim but their entire family.
