DeKalb County, GA (November 8, 2025) – Four people were injured on Wednesday night, November 5, after a Georgia State Patrol chase ended in a violent multi-vehicle crash on Redan Road near South Indian Creek Road in DeKalb County.
The chase began around 7:15 p.m. when troopers spotted a stolen Kia K4 leaving a gas station. When the trooper attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver sped away, refusing to pull over. As the Kia traveled west on Redan Road, it crossed into the opposite lanes near Mill Lake Drive and slammed into a Nissan driving in the correct direction.
The impact sent the Nissan across the median into the eastbound lanes, directly in front of a pursuing patrol car. The Kia continued down the road and hit three more vehicles before coming to a stop. The collision left several people trapped inside their cars and scattered debris across the roadway.
Troopers rushed to help the injured drivers and pulled the Nissan driver to safety. They stayed beside the Kia’s driver, who was pinned inside the wreckage, until firefighters arrived to free them. Paramedics transported four victims to nearby hospitals. Both the Nissan and Kia drivers suffered serious injuries, while two others sustained minor wounds.
The Georgia State Patrol’s Special Collision Reconstruction Team continues to investigate what led to the crash and the events leading up to it.
Our hearts are with everyone injured in this devastating incident. We wish them a full and swift recovery.
Car Accidents in Georgia
Serious car crashes like this one in DeKalb County reveal how quickly a single reckless decision can destroy lives. Across Georgia, hundreds of people are hurt each year because of speeding, distracted driving, drunk driving, and drivers who refuse to obey traffic laws. These crashes often happen in a matter of seconds but leave victims facing pain and hardship that can last a lifetime.
Many accident victims suffer broken bones, spinal injuries, brain trauma, or internal bleeding that require long hospital stays and ongoing medical care. The emotional impact can be just as severe, with victims struggling to recover from the fear and anxiety caused by a traumatic crash. Families often face financial challenges as medical bills rise and their loved ones miss work during recovery.
Georgia law allows accident victims to seek compensation for their injuries and losses. Victims may recover money for medical expenses, lost wages, future care, and the pain and emotional suffering they endure. While no amount of money can undo the harm, fair compensation helps victims rebuild their lives and regain stability after a traumatic event.
