Hall Co., GA - Two Hurt in Semi-Truck Crash on GA 365

Hall Co., GA (May 23, 2025) — A serious crash involving a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer on Wednesday evening, May 21, left both drivers hospitalized with significant injuries, according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).

The accident occurred at approximately 5:07 p.m. at the intersection of GA 365 (Cornelia Highway) and Whitehall Road.

Investigators say a 26-year-old driver from Commerce was traveling south in a Chevrolet Silverado and attempted to make a left turn onto Whitehall Road. At the same time, a Volvo semi-truck, operated by a 56-year-old man, was heading north in the right lane of GA 365.

According to troopers, the pickup truck was struck on its passenger side by the northbound tractor-trailer.

Emergency crews responded quickly and transported both drivers to area hospitals for treatment of serious injuries. Northbound lanes of GA 365 were closed for about 90 minutes as authorities conducted an investigation and cleared the wreckage.

The Georgia State Patrol noted that charges may be filed pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.

We hope for the full recovery of the injured victims.

Georgia Truck Accidents

Hall Co., GA - Two Hurt in Semi-Truck Crash on GA 365Each year in Georgia, traffic collisions affect hundreds of thousands of lives, many involving large commercial trucks. With over 300,000 accidents reported annually, truck-related crashes are particularly devastating due to the sheer size and weight of these vehicles. In fact, close to 130,000 people suffer injuries on Georgia roadways each year, and a substantial number stem from crashes involving semi-trucks and other commercial carriers.

Being injured in a truck accident can lead to long-term challenges—physically, emotionally, and financially. From mounting medical expenses and lost income to lasting pain and trauma, victims often face an uphill battle to recover. That’s why pursuing a personal injury claim is often the most effective way to secure the resources needed to move forward.

Most commercial truck accidents can be traced back to avoidable mistakes. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that over 90% of crashes are caused by driver error. In truck accidents, frequent causes include:

  • Excessive speed or reckless lane changes
  • Distracted driving, including phone use
  • Driver fatigue from extended hours behind the wheel
  • Substance impairment
  • Poor vehicle maintenance or lack of proper driver training

The injuries resulting from these crashes are often severe, ranging from spinal damage and head injuries to internal trauma and permanent disability. Unlike regular fender-benders, truck accidents tend to involve multiple parties, including trucking firms, manufacturers, and insurers, making the legal process more complex.
