Georgia Car Accidents
Each year, Georgia experiences a staggering number of motor vehicle accidents, with over 300,000 collisions reported across the state. Tragically, more than 150,000 people suffer injuries, and countless lives are lost in crashes that are often entirely preventable. The root cause in the vast majority of these incidents? Driver negligence.
Across the U.S., negligent driving has become a growing concern—especially in recent years. Data shows that more than 94% of car accidents nationwide are tied to human error. The most frequent forms of negligence behind the wheel include:
- Driving under the influence
- Drowsy driving
- Excessive speed
- Distracted driving
In just a single recent year, over 12,000 lives were lost due to speed-related crashes, while distracted driving claimed the lives of more than 3,000 people. These types of accidents often result in especially severe consequences due to the reckless nature of the behavior involved. That’s why it’s critical for every driver to remain alert, responsible, and sober whenever they get behind the wheel—one careless moment can put countless lives at risk.
Losing a loved one in a fatal accident is a heartbreaking and life-altering experience, especially when the loss occurs suddenly and without warning. In Georgia, families face this devastating reality all too often, as fatal crashes continue to claim lives on highways and local roads each year. The grief of losing someone you care about is often compounded by the shock, unanswered questions, and emotional and financial burdens that follow. When a fatal accident is caused by another driver’s negligence, the pain can be even more profound, knowing the tragedy could have been prevented. While no amount of compensation can ever replace a lost life, pursuing a wrongful death claim with the help of a wrongful death lawyer may provide families with a sense of justice and the financial support needed to begin healing.
